Suppliers are obliged to offer these functions in order to be listed on Becta's Learning Platform Services Framework.

Becta's learning platform technical specifications offers a set of specifications and guidelines matched to the functions.

It is important to note that the focus of these documents is upon defining the functions that an end user should see, and developing the interoperability that is required to use the functions. We are far less concerned with defining products or applications, such as VLEs and MLEs.

Both the learning platform functional requirements and technical specifications will be subject to regular review and update, as requirements, technologies and specifications develop and change.
